Passion Projects
This is a collection of passion projects where I've explored different mediums, and ideas, to have some space to explore different ways of working, new skills, and display design in different formats from a video inspired by my relaxed morning coffee routine to share my passion for coffee, to a postcard based on a sunrise from my last day of a holiday.

Morning Coffee
Video Experiment
This short reel was inspired by a lot of the cinematic relaxed content I consume across Instagram and YouTube. I'm inspired by a lot of creators through video such as Tatsuki, Teo Crawford, and Jesse Nyberg, just to name a few.
I wanted to experiment shooting some video using my phone and trying out the Black Magic camera app to refine some of the settings ready for an upcoming shoot and to learn some new skills, and I also want to strat shooting more short form content to show my personality through some of the things I'm passionate about.
The inspiration to shoot my morning coffee routine comes from my love for coffee, and the process of making it. I do this every morning before starting my day and sometimes a few times throughout the day. I love coffee and also the process of making espresso specifically at the moment and enjoy watching other peoples espresso workflows, and routines in a similar, slow, calm, cinematic way, so i gave it a go myself.
I've also had the idea to make a Mascot that represents some of the things I love, to represent my brand. I thought these two things just made sense together. I do drink a lot of caffeine, mostly through coffee and I like the fun playful vibe of my mascot for the brand, with the wording 'Powered by Creativity & Coffee' I feel does represent me quite well.

Cala Bona

Windy Beach Day
These are some Images/Videos I took while on a holiday to Cala Bona. I was inspired to use some of the images I've taken to make something, rather than just having them on my camera roll. I thought a collection of Postcards work well as mini posters, as part of a postcard series, and a personal collection of memories that allows me to also experiment with different techniques, colours, fonts etc.
This was inspired by a windy beach day while on holiday. The weather was good but the wind was fierce. I wanted to capture the warm look of the sand and sun, but also convey just how windy it was, so I added a video of the palm tree in the background and played around with some effects in Premiere Pro.
I also plan to continue this short series in the near future, to use some more of what I've captured in my camera roll, such as concerts, days out, great meals, and time spent with loved ones, friends and great people. A full series of these postcards will come at some point in the near future!
Cala Bona Sunrise

Morning Sunrise
As we were leaving the hotel before heading to the airport, myself and partner watched the sunrise on our last morning in Cala Bona. This inspired this postcard, and video. A calm morning sunrise with fond memories of our time on a short get away.
I wanted to keep this one simple, and framed everything around the small boat going off into the sunrise, and kept the text minimal and let the sunrise, colours, and just that feeling of of the sun slowly rising over the sea speak for itself.
Lemons

Fun Lemon Poster
This was a quick poster Idea I had and sketched it out on my iPad, with the saying 'When life gives you lemons,' with a little twist to the original saying hidden at the bottom. Meant to be playful as a quick poster idea to experiment with using subtle texture in my illustrations.
I started playing around with adding texture to a lemon I'd drawn, and wanted to make it into a form of poster. Rather than using the standard saying ending with 'make lemonade' I decided to change it up a bit and added 'squeeze it in the eyes of your enemies' as a playful yes discreet text at the bottom of the poster.
I also really liked how the blue and yellow compliment each other and was happy to get this printed as an extra piece if artwork on the wall. I also liked how the lemon turned out with the subtle texture adding shadow.
Monday Blues

Poster Series
One Monday I had the idea of making a simple series of posters exploring the idea of Monday blues.
I wanted to use more texture and play around in photoshop with more layers and different blend modes to see what effects I could get out of it to use in later projects. I played around with some water imagery, fonts, colours and textured overlays.
My favourite is the first one I made which is the sad face version. It's minimal and I drew the face quickly with my mouse, but it evokes the feeling that I wanted it to. I also like how the layered effects work together, and it gives that feeling that the water is almost moving.
